Loveland Tigers Triumph at BITS Cheer Competition

In an exciting day for Loveland High School, the cheer team achieved a remarkable victory at the Best in State (BITS) Cheer Competition held on November 17, 2024, at Upper Arlington High School. With a showcase of their 'Game Day Routine,' the Tigers overcame their initial hurdles of the season to dominate the event.

Earlier in the season, the Tigers faced challenges, placing last in their first competition of the year. However, the cheer squad, led by senior captains Brooke Morris and Cameran Cook, made significant improvements. Their efforts were complemented by outstanding performances from senior Maddie Brankamp, junior Payton Wiekert and Sophomore Sophie Paul. The three freshmen on the team, Sophia, Caroline, and Jaycee, also stepped up crucially in the competition. The team's routine, which included no deductions for tumbling or stunts, kept the energy soaring throughout the event, contributing to their success.
Senior captain Cameran Cook shared her enthusiasm, "It felt really great to win because we have been working hard to better our routine and our stunts so seeing that work pay off was nice. Since we are in a new division this year, it feels good to know that we can still perform and place well even when trying new things!"

Coach Emily expressed pride in her team's turnaround since their early-season challenges, "I am very proud of this team and the changes they made following our first competition. This win was a much-needed confidence boost heading into the middle of competition season. But we can't get lazy and need to keep building off of this exciting win!"

Looking ahead, the Loveland High Tigers are set to participate in the OHSAA Spirit Championships on December 14th, 2024, at Wittenberg University. Both the squad and their supporters are eager to maintain their momentum and continue their commendable performances.
